BHA Design was retained by Hammes Company to provide landscape architecture services for a replacement hospital to be constructed in Salem. BHA’s efforts included development of designs for a new drop off area, a rooftop garden, and development of a pathway system in a highly sensitive natural area.

One of the most difficult aspects of the project was developing a rooftop garden in a manner that provided immediate screening between patient windows directly across from one another. The rooftop garden was also located over a surgical delivery room where structural integrity was extremely critical.
